The summer is officially over. Today is (or rather was) Labor Day holiday. The weather was crappy pretty much the whole day and now it’s raining. I live in the greatest city (Chicago) but the major drawback here is the weather. We have only two seasons; winter and summer. It goes from one extreme to another. This year though there was only a short “summer extreme” time where the temps have reached over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. But now it’s all over. Gloomy days are here, time to pull the air conditioners out of the windows and start bundling up. Maybe boring autumn(ish) days will be better spent on painting my place which I have been putting off since I bought my house.
Yesterday I went to down town with my friends for a short while. The crowds on the streets were annoying like hell. When I travel somewhere I try to adapt to the local scene and make myself obvious as little as possible. I hate when tourist crowds stop in the middle of the sidewalk where everyone is trying to pass them by and scream “Mary….look at this building” with screeching voice. So sue me for getting annoyed. In my defense I do like to help visitors, give them pointers etc etc. I’ve met a couple of people that way which are still my friends until this day (and I don’t mean forced friendship where you send a post card once a year but the kind that come back for a visit). I shall not mention visitors that turned out to be friends with benefits ;-) That’s enough bull shit for today. For good night a pic I shot in front of Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA)…. It’s a Fiat Uno with Trailer… pretty cool.
