Yesterday I sent an e-mail to Nokia Repair to get the status of my repair…Within a few hours I received an e-mail asking to call back. I meant to do so today but as I was a bit busy at work i did not get a chance to do it. Surprisingly about 30 minutes ago I received a phone call from a nice lady, Laura, who was apologizing for the time it’s taking but unfortunately could not provide me with the “eta” of replacement. One thing that shocked me what the fact that I was offered a prorated refund on my phone. I asked about the amount I would be refunded. Well the nice lady calculated $361.00
As it’s been 5 weeks now since I took my phone for repair I guess this will be a better option to do as I already bought N95 and N80 was going to be placed on eBay for about the same amount. I’m semi happy with the resolution because I’ll be getting money back on the phone, however considering the fact that it’s taken SO long to get to this point (and with my personal actions) I think Nokia should REALLY look into their repair center procedures (I was told the repair center is outsourced). I do have a few more rants but that’s perhaps for another post. My next step is to get the proof of purchase from my credit card company so I can send it to Nokia for a refund… update will follow.
