Today I received a check from Nokia. Finaly. Just as an update the refund did not go as smooth as planned. Right from the beginning I was mentioning the amount of $361 which was quoted to me as a prorated refund. Last week I received a phone call from Nokia customer center asking for the proof of purchase. I did not have a chance to call on that day so I called next day and left a message saying that earlier this week I spoke to John from Nokia store in Chicago, who was supposed to provide NSC with the proof of purchase for my phone. The lady called me back and apologized saying that she did get it from the store and no action was needed on my side….and just to recap the refund process she went over a few things (mailing address etc etc)…she also said “You;ll be getting a check for $288.00. My eyes opened wide and I said “WHAT???” During the original conversation I was told I’d be getting $361 and that was the ONLY reason I agreed to accept the refund. The lady on the phone said that I NEVER provided any proof of purchase or the purchase amount…which is a bogus lie. I told her I bought the phone for $599 plus tax which came out to be $649 and when asked about the purchase date I told her it was the grand opening day of Nokia store in Chicago (Which was June 25th). After I said that I agreed to the refund only because I was offered $361 only then she said that she will honor this amount only because I went through so much with my repair case…. WAY TO GO NOKIA…PERFECT customer service. It makes me wanna barf when I think abut it but thank God I got my check today which I will be cashing in tomorrow. Interestingly the check does not have any clause sych as “By cashing it I waive any right my phone” etc etc so who knows… I may get my phone in the mail…wouldn’t that be interesting???
