While in Poland I got a taste of not 3G but 3.5G (HSDPA). This was of course after I updated the firmware of N95 to version 12 (hence the 3.5 indicator in the corner). I absolutely loved the speed but now back in the US…on CRAPPY EDGE which by the way was just crippled in Chicago to port 80 access only (HTML browsing). So Nokia Internet Radio, Live TV, and Spodtronic are no longer working over EDGE. SHAME ON YOU T-mobile for crippling already crippled network….
This post is not really related to the mobile technology. Rather it’s about a small car called Mikrus which was made in in my hometown of Mielec, Poland in 1957. The history of the car is that it was a by-product of other major production at WSK Mielec (Currently PZL Mielec - Polish Aviation Works). There were a total of around 1800 Mikrus cars made during the whole production time so the cars in good condition are REALLY rare as there are only a handful left in the whole world. That’s why it was even nicer to see them all lined up (a total of 10 or 12.. I’m not really sure). So look at the short film below showing some of the beauties in the whole glory (almost) all restored to their prime beauty.

Currently I’m in Poland taking care of my mom. I got here on Monday. While in flight (Polish Airlines..my employer) I tried what many have just for the kicks of it….GPS while in flight. First of all let me say that it was a PAIN to get the signal. I literally had to keep the phone stuck to the window for about 5 minutes. Then the flight attendant looked at me. I immediately told her the GSM radio was off which put her at ease. After I grabbed the signal i had to do a few screen shots…the signal was VERY sensitive and even a slight move made gps loose the link but it would acquire within a few seconds. So I got a few shots in my flickr to proove it works. There’s also another shot showing the beauty of 3G…I’m so jealous. For some reason I’ve noticed a few times before when in coverage of 3G that the phone is more responsive and faster. Post your comments if you’ve had a similar experience. Continue for more shots
