Flash Lite v2.0

One of the few applications in my opinion that the newer Nokia users do not make enough use of is the Flash player (in the Flash Lite flavour). I had a couple of flash files loaded on my phone but today I decided to dig a bit on the net and came to the conclusion that there’s a lot of content available. To try some stuff click on the below link which will take you to iRiver’s home on Smashing Content website. I was not even aware that iRiver mp3 players support flash lite. The games are really cute and take very little memory on your device.

Sling Player

As reported by Darla Mack, Sling media just announced beta program for S60 client for Sling players. Now this is not some kind of test for adults into play in slings (get your mids out of the gutter) but rather a beta program for software that allows you to watch Live video broadcasted to your mobile phone running on Symbian S60v3 only for now. So follow the link below to sign up for the beta trial. For me this is a Christmas in August. The lack of S60 client for Sling Player was the only reason that kept me from buying the device.

Stick it to the customer

I was thinking about altering this image to something more appropriate - like stick it to the subscriber…which it seems T-Mobile US has been doing lately. First right after I returned from Poland I’ve noticed that EDGE in Chicago no longer allows free browsing. As I said in the previous post I can no longer use Nokia Internet Radio or Spodtronic over GPRS/EDGE. Live TV application is also no longer usable on EDGE. What pisses me off the most is that even Shozu is now crippled. I can not upload the pictures via EDGE because T-Mob decided to screw midwest and block all the goodness. At the beginning T-Mobile was the good guy with its slogan “Get More”…and we really WERE getting more than we would on other networks. As of lately though…after they changed the slogan to “Stick Together”, that’s what they’re doing - sticking it up to the subscriber. Let’s see…UMA??? Until more phones come out, screw UMA…the offerings are pieces of crap. I use Vonage at home which not too long ago altered their per minute fees and not all I have to pay when calling Poland (land line) is only 1 cent…as in one penny, as in $0.01. What if I’d switch to T-Mob’s UMA… I don’t even know what the rates are but my guess is it’s the same as the ones originating from their cellular network ($0.99)…NO THANKS….

I have been with T-Mobile since their VoiceStream times. Three months ago was the VERY first time since I joined them that I upgraded my phone (RIZR)…which was done ONLY to offset the price of my N95… RIZR landed on eBay the very same day I got it and was sold for $190…a profit of $140 which brought down the price of N95 “only” $680 (which then was further reduced by $368 which i received from Nokia as a reimbursement for my lost/never fixed N80…see earlier posts). ut back to T-Mobile’s bashing….My main and the BIGGEST complain is T-Mobile’s 3G in the US…or rather lack of it. It was promised around the 3rd quarter of 2007 which is approaching. Instead of keeping hush, how about putting a link on main T-Mobile website called simply “3G Update” and provide some update to the subscribers. I really was full of envy when my N95 popped up with 3.5 G indicator while I was in Poland. Now the evil AT&T has it too (I won’t bitch at them but everyone knows they’re an overpriced hog and the 3G features are either crippled (1 way video) or charging outrageous fees that most people won’t pay)). What do we get from T-Mob…. we get a finger. So my final comment - T-Mobile - stop fu…ing with your loyal customers and give us something to be happy about like REAL web access in the form of 3G and THEN ask for more money or leave the shitty data network that you run alone and let us enjoy it for what it’s worth…a measly 2.5G

P.S. T-Mobile logo and the slogans are the property of T-Mobile USA, A Subsidiary of Deutche Telekom AG….that’s just so T-Mob won’t sue me
